NSS Testing specialises in the inspection, installation, maintenance and testing of fall protection and access systems for commercial clients across the UK.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Fall Protection Engineer & Estimator to join our Access & Safety team.

This hybrid role combines hands-on installation, inspection and maintenance work with estimating, surveying and project support responsibilities. You will use your industry knowledge and practical experience to help plan, price and deliver fall protection projects while remaining actively involved in site-based engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Installation

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair:

  • Lifeline systems

  • Fall arrest and restraint systems

  • Guardrails

  • Fixed ladders

  • Walkways and gantries

  • Eyebolts and abseil systems

  • Roof access and edge protection systems

• Carry out site surveys and inspections

• Identify defects and remedial works

• Work safely and in line with industry standards and company procedures

Estimating & Technical Support

• Prepare quotations and cost estimates

• Review drawings, specifications and client requirements

• Conduct surveys and material take-offs

• Identify labour, access and material requirements

• Support project planning and procurement

• Use practical site knowledge to ensure quotations are accurate and deliverable

Project Support

• Support projects from enquiry through to completion

• Liaise with clients, engineers and management teams

• Assist with scheduling, materials and resource planning

• Provide technical support to installation teams

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience within the fall protection industry

• Experience installing, inspecting and maintaining fall protection systems

• Knowledge of lifeline systems, fall arrest and restraint systems, guardrails, fixed ladders, walkways, gantries, eyebolts and abseil systems

• Experience carrying out site surveys and identifying remedial works

• Experience producing quotations, material take-offs and scopes of work

• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

• Strong understanding of working at height and associated safety requirements

• Good planning, organisational and communication skills

• Competent with Microsoft Office

• Full UK Driving Licence

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role combining office and site-based work. You'll travel to client sites across the UK, undertake surveys and installation activities, and support estimating and project preparation from the office.

Working at height is a core requirement of this role.
